Staph and MRSA risk
Shared grips, benches, mats, and locker room surfaces are recognised transmission points. Disinfectant choice and dwell time are the controls that matter.

over locker rooms.
Cleaning for Los Angeles gyms and fitness studios, scoped around locker rooms, shared equipment, and disinfectants that actually carry a staph kill claim.

The facility
A gym concentrates a day of traffic into a few hours across shared equipment and humid locker rooms. It is the one facility type where a cleaning shortfall becomes a health question rather than an appearance one.
Shared grips, benches, mats, and locker room surfaces are recognised transmission points. Disinfectant choice and dwell time are the controls that matter.
Morning and evening peaks leave a narrow midday window. Scopes are built around when the floor is actually usable for cleaning.
Members tolerate a busy floor. They do not tolerate a locker room that smells, and that is where cancellations originate.
The scope
Wiping a surface is not disinfecting it. The scope names products, dwell times, and frequencies for the surfaces that actually transmit.
Products are selected because their labels list Staphylococcus aureus, and surfaces are kept visibly wet for the label dwell time, commonly two to four minutes.
Fixtures, benches, lockers, shower floors and walls, and mirrors, at daily minimum and twice daily in high-volume facilities.
Drains get specific attention because biofilm in them is a known reservoir and a common source of persistent odor.
Free weight handles, cable grips, upholstered benches, and mats on a documented pass, with the boundary against member self-wipe agreed with your staff.
Public and member restrooms with consumable restocking timed to peak hours rather than to one nightly pass.
Hard floors, mats, and studio surfaces cleaned around equipment on the agreed frequency.
How we begin
A gym at six in the morning and a gym at two in the afternoon are different buildings. The scope has to know the difference.
We tour during a peak period to see real traffic, locker room load, equipment layout, and the windows where cleaning is actually possible.
You receive the scope, the products and dwell times, the frequencies per area, and any midday coverage the facility needs.
Qualified recurring accounts may begin with a one-week paid introductory pilot, followed by a joint review before ongoing service is approved.
Crews are background-checked Qinti W-2 employees with supervisor checks against the written scope. Qinti has served Los Angeles-area clients since 2008 and is insured and bonded.
“Over the years, they have consistently provided outstanding service.”
Useful questions
Fitness managers ask about locker rooms and peak coverage. These are the recurring questions.
An EPA-registered disinfectant whose label lists Staphylococcus aureus among its kill claims, applied so the surface stays visibly wet for the full label dwell time, commonly two to four minutes. Consumer wipes generally do not achieve that dwell time, which is why member self-wipe is a supplement rather than a control.
Yes. Facilities without a true closing window are scoped around their lowest-traffic hours, often overnight, with a day porter added when locker rooms and restrooms need attention across peaks.
Daily at minimum, and twice daily in high-volume facilities. Locker rooms and showers are warm, humid, and heavily shared, which is exactly the environment that rewards frequency over product.
The boundary is agreed at the walkthrough and written into the scope. Many facilities keep member-facing wipe stations with their own staff and assign the documented disinfection pass, floors, mats, locker rooms, and restrooms to Qinti.
Usually drains. Biofilm in shower and locker room drains is a known reservoir that surface cleaning never reaches, so drains are given specific attention in the scope rather than being treated as part of the floor.
